I’ve had the pleasure of coming to know David Norris through a mutual friend. Once you sit down with him you realize almost immediately, he’s one of those guys you feel like you’ve known your entire life, and that’s just the beginning. His talent, integrity and work ethic take it to a new level. When I started working with David just over a year ago, I was looking for someone with an objective ear, organizational skills, and someone who could also apply their own musical talent to my project. I found all that and more with David. He was able to recognize when I needed to try something different or again, guide me through phrasing, pitch, emotion, etc. He knew when to stop and when I had nailed it. Not only has he proven to be an exceptional partner in the studio, providing the ideal guitar sound, finding the right tempo, and even choosing the sweetest harmonies, his reputation in the industry has earned him the respect and support to be able to assemble and negotiate the finest musicians available in Nashville. In addition to that, his networking throughout the country has proven that this is someone who means business and delivers.
Being uncertain and wary of my experiences in the music industry, I was convinced that there was nobody I could trust. David proved me wrong. He has respectfully kept an eye on my budget while keeping the other eye on the musical “big picture.” Bringing Dave on board as a producer and co-writer has allowed me to focus solely on my music and not worry so much about the details of the industry that can drain the emotion and passion from writing.
I am so grateful for having the opportunity to create and work with David and look forward to doing so for years to come!

Well, he’s an amazing musician and producer. Everyone that knows him knows that. But until you work with Dave you don’t really know how deep the rabbit hole goes…from an artist’s perspective, that is. Simply put, Dave is gonna get you what you want. And if you don’t know what you want, he does. Believe me, it’s very hard for any producer to deliver more than that.

I believe that David definitely has two of the best ears in Nashville . No one has ever captured me on tape like Norris, and I am always extremely ecstatic by the results of our recording sessions. Always professional, light hearted, and makes me feel very comfortable in the studio. I love working with David, one of the most talented up and coming producers for sure…make room boys he’s coming.

“Hey Man, I hope all is well…anyway WNUS 107 in Parkersburg, WV ran a test on Stronger Than Whiskey and Country Girls Gone Wild with phenominal response!! I interviewed yesterday (taped) and then he ran it later and hit me back with “Went GREAT ! ! ! Immediate response….You may have the next big thing, I’ll be droppin it in often.” He told me he’s never had a reaction to a song (Stronger The Whiskey) like that in his career as a DJ ! ! ! I think we maybe on to somethin here, Davey. 28 calls were made on it in 20 minutes…Country Girls Gone Wild gotta a huge male response as well and he said it will be a fantastic Summer time song!

I came to Nashville to cut a really good album, but with David’s direction and creative energy, it turned into more than I imagined. He gave me much more than I ever bargained for. His passion and dedication turned a good project into a GREAT album. All the players were top notch, he’s a blast to work with, and it was all very professional. He pulled the best vocal performances out of me, all the while making me feel extremely comfortable. I am so blessed to have met him when I did, not only is he my producer, but I gained a life long friend.
Here’s a review that was published in Powersource & Music Row magazine…claiming my album came in 3rd place behind Clay Walker & Porter Wagner for BEST album in Nashville…woo hooooo ! ! !
KRISTI WARNER – Read My Lipstick:
“The only thing I still want that you ever gave me is that box set of Chris LeDoux.” That’s from “You And The Horse You Rode In On,” and that’s typical of what’s going to hit you between the eyes when you crank up this CD. There’s something about making an independent record with great people who have nobody to please but themselves. Unbridled, they run like a desert storm, and the result is true Country artistry. This is one of those free and rare independent projects. And of course, as generally happens when true artists are true to their art, Kristi is getting plenty of big label attention. We’ve got Kristi working with producer David Norris, both of them transplanted Californians. We’ve got songs from Brett Beavers and Danny Wells, with a couple penned by producer Norris. CJ Watson’s “Gone With The Rising Sun” opens the album like a blazing dawn over Lake Charles. And songwriting doesn’t get any better than the title song by Chip and Billy Davis and Doug Graham. Best of all, Kristi Warner has a gorgeous, expressive voice, and she can interpret a song like few artists can. That makes all the difference. She makes every song a true story. What a great album.”
Thank you David for helping my dreams come alive.

Dave has a remarkable talent for being able to identify the musical vision of the artist and guide them into a unique and creative musical representation themselves. He presents incredible ideas in a very enthusiastic manner and his love of music is infectious. Working with him is an incredible experience because it’s always fun and the end product is always better than you anticipated.

I just wanted to drop you a line to let you know how incredible of an experience I had working with you. My songs turned out fantastic and you delivered on every promise that you made. You have a great style and flare with your producing and I loved your attention to detail. I am saving every dime so I can come back to Nashville and work again with you. Southern Minnesota Radio is playing “Don’t Treat Me Like a Stranger” and I am rocking the tracks everywhere I can. Thanks again!
